“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success." -- Pablo Picasso
Arguably the premier artist of the twentieth century, Picasso, unlike many of his peers, achieved fame and a substantial fortune during his lifetime. The quote above suggests that he must have known, at some level, that planning makes all the difference.
Picasso made thousands of paintings, drawings and poems, sold and traded them wisely when he needed money, and died with a considerable collection of his own work and the works of other famous artists, including Henri Matisse. Unfortunately, he died without a will in 1973 at age 91 and much of his collection went to the French government to pay estate taxes.
